Campaign launch targeted to attract health and wellness

The Government of El Salvador has launched an ambitious campaign to drive health and wellness seekers to the Central American country – known for its Pacific Ocean beaches, surfing and mountainous landscape – by sponsoring the 8th World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress, Sept. 27-30, 2015, in Orlando, Fla., the Medical Tourism Association®
“After years of work and training for both government and private healthcare providers and tourism businesses, ‘El Salvador: Destination for Health’ will promote our country as a sustainable, attractive and competitive destination in the medical tourism marketplace,”
According to the Ministry of Tourism, 19,301 health and wellness travelers entered El Salvador for medical treatment in 2014; primarily for cosmetic and dental procedures at one of six clinics accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc.
Napoleon Duarte, who will be participating in the 6th Global Ministerial Summit, said his delegation at the Congress will include the Salvadorian Tourism Corporation (CORSATUR), which will host a networking luncheon for leading healthcare providers in El Salvador, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2015, in the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla.
